Grant opportunity: VET-business partnerships on work-based learning and apprenticeships
Source: webgate.ec.europa.eu
Against the background of high youth unemployment and skills mismatch, the overall aim of the Call is to bridge the gap between the worlds of education and business and to improve the relevance of education and training to labour market needs.
In this context the objective of the Call is to invite the submission of proposals on VET-business partnerships to develop work-based learning and thus contributing to the Riga objective to promote work-based learning in all its forms, with special attention to apprenticeships.
These partnerships should contribute to the involvement of business and social partners in the design and delivery of VET and to ensure a strong work-based learning element in VET.
This Call also intends to improve the quality of work-based learning and apprenticeships by promoting partnerships between companies, VET providers, other relevant stakeholders and intermediary organisations in order to develop more relevant, systematic and sustainable approaches by transferring knowledge and by learning from well-established models and practices.
The global objective of this call for proposals is to contribute to stimulate sustainable and inclusive socio-economic development through improved transition from training to employment.
The specific objectives of this call for proposals are:
a) To strengthen the interface between labour market needs and the VET sector development with an aim to equip young people with skills relevant to work requirements and make them more capable to find relevant jobs or start their own business;
b) To encourage the introduction/testing of important novelties in Vocational Education and Training and labour market reforms (e.g. work –based learning, apprenticeships, skills and jobs matching mechanisms);
c) Increasing the employability and productivity of VET graduates, in particular in terms of facilitation of their access to entry level jobs;
The overall indicative amount made available under this call for proposals is EUR 0.8 million. The Contracting Authority reserves the right not to award all available funds.
