Personal Data Protection Agency of the RA Ministry of Justice Became A Member of Global Privacy Enforcement Network (GPEN)
On February 19, 2016 Personal Data Protection Agency of the RA Ministry of Justice became a full member of Global Privacy Enforcement Network (GPEN). It was the Agency’s global success in international level.
GPEN was formed in 2010 in response to Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Recommendation on Cross-border Cooperation in the Enforcement of Laws Protecting Privacy (adopted in 2007). This recommendation calls on Member States to establish an informal network of privacy enforcement authorities to promote and support cooperation in cross-border enforcement of laws protecting privacy. The cooperation is promoted via information exchange, training opportunities, sharing of enforcement know-how, dialogue with member authorities, undertaking/supporting specific activities, etc.
GPEN members include data protection supervisory authorities of the United Kingdom, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Poland, Czech Republic, Estonia, Lithuania, Albania, Canada, New Zealand, China, Australia and other states.
