Volunteers are welcomed to take part in Bird count and monitoring activities of protected areas in Caucasus Wildlife Refuge (CWR), which is established to conserve rear and endemic biodiversity of Armenia, wildlife migratory corridors and work as a buffer zone for Khosrov national Reserve.
CWR is a privately protected area of 30 thousand hectares in Ararat and Vayots Dzor provinces of Armenia which is established by Foundation for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets (FPWC). CWR is one of the biodiversity hotspots of the country. The landscape zones range from semi-deserts to alpine meadows.
And around 150 bird species could be observed in the territory (this includes the rarities like Caspian Snowcock, Lanner Falcon, all four species of vultures, Eastern and Western Rock Nuthatches, Eastern Orphean Warbler, White throated Warbler, 5 species of wheatears, Desert and Trumpeter Finches and many, many others).
From mammals we can observe Bezoar Goat, Armenian Mouflon, Caucasian Lynx, Syrian Bear and if very, very luck Persian Leopard.
Area is unique with the diversity of flowers as well. Regional and country endemics could be observed.
