Introduction
Within the framework of the EU “Elections4All-2021 – Domestic Observations and Citizens Empowerment by Civil Society” project OxYGen Foundation for Protection of Youth and Women Rights is hereby announcing a competitive call for civil society organizations to strengthen the promotion of environmental, climate change-related aspects of elections.
“Elections4All-2021 – Domestic Observations and Citizens Empowerment by Civil Society” project is implemented by OxYGen Foundation, Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly – Vanadzor, Union of Informed Citizens, and Yerevan School of Political Studies. The Project is funded by the European Union.
The overall project contributes to improving the Armenian democratic processes by fostering CSO- coordinated oversight and monitoring for inclusive, gender-sensitive, transparent, free, and fair elections in 2021 both at local and national levels.
The objectives and results of the sub-grant awarded under this call should be in line with the objectives and results of the project and particularly the following key component of the project: Promotion of environmental, climate change-related aspects of elections.
Applicants should propose activities of this nature:
- To conduct local initiatives to promote environmental, climate change-related aspects of elections, which should include:
- exploring the local and international best practices in addressing the negative environmental aspects of elections through research and/or peer-to-peer learning initiatives, dialogue events
- to explore the environmental impact of the election campaigns and voting regulation and proposal of possible alternatives
- provide analysis of party platforms and programs on the topic of environment and climate change impacting local communities.
- promoting public discourse on the issue – with campaign materials, publications – with the possible replication and expansion, within the framework of the project’s other initiatives.
- policy brief with key recommendations for key decision-makers in this direction
The Evaluation Committee will take into consideration the following evaluation criteria:
- The overall quality of the proposal
- Cost-efficiency/value for money and quality of the proposed budget
- Previous experience and relevance to this experience
- Innovative elements
- Opportunities for replication
- Impartiality and nonpartisan principles.
The Applicant should ensure EU visibility of all proposed activities. This should be described in the proposal.
How to apply
This Call is open for CSOs, non-for-profit organizations, legal entities. No restrictions on nationality and origin regarding the recipients of financial support are foreseen.

- The concept outline and budget
- Information on previous experience (projects of the last 3 years) in implementation of relevant and/or other projects
- A scanned version of the State Registration Document, as relevant.
