TITLE: Projects Coordinator (2 positions)
WORKING HOURS: Full time

START DATE/ TIME: 15 January 2018

CONTRACT: Contract based according to project with probation of 3 months
LOCATION: Yerevan, Armenia
REMUNERATION/ SALARY: Based on the qualification from 350.000 AMD to 380.000 AMD (Gross).
ROLE PURPOSE: Project Coordinator role is to support the development and implementation of SWV projects they are assigned to. S/he coordinates the project’s smooth implementation and reports back to Head of Programs on their specified projects. The Project Coordinator provides support to the team through assessment, planning, monitoring and documentation. The post requires working closely with the team members, head of programs and CEO.
Responsibilities
Project Implementation
- Take responsibility on implementation of the project activities according to the project timeline
- Provide guidance and support to the project and the staff members involved in assessing the context and needs; in planning and implementing activities; and in monitoring and preparing narrative and financial reports
- Contribute to the development of relations with counterparts (civil society network, partner organizations) and work towards their strengthening through:
- development of capacity and skills (facilitation, presentation, reporting and networking)
- Assist in the design and delivery of training and other support activities within other projects.
- Support the organization and facilitation of events (meetings, workshops, training and seminars) with participation of civil society network, project partner and the team
- Support and contribute to researches undertaken by SWV and project partners and contract based experts
- Prepare project reports
Project Administration
- Prepare estimates for budgeted activities,
- Monitor budgets and expenditure,
- Undertake monitoring and evaluation tasks within the project.
- Take on other administrative tasks such as updating the database, taking minutes, translating documents and assisting with logistics for travel, etc.
- Lead, support and develop SWV staff ensuring effective systems are in place for project implementation, project budget accountability, project monitoring, review and evaluation
- Other tasks as directed by SWV
Communications and Advocacy
- Help develop appropriate advocacy strategies - in co-operation with project partners and SWV team
- Communicate with public sector on specific issues to foster the implementation of project goals
- Get involved in coalitions and associations fostering cooperation with CSO partners relevant to the project
- Monitor and analyze the official and non-governmental debates on issues relevant to the project
- Prepare relevant articles for the website about their project implementation
- Represent SWV in workshops; training and interactions organized by partner organizations, donors
Strategy and Project Development
- Participate in the team discussions for the development of specific projects within SWV
- Share within the team the lessons and knowledge of thematic approaches, trainings attended, particularly experience on civil society strengthening within NGO sector
Person Specification
Absolute essentials
- The ability to provide leadership
- The ability to adopt vision of the SWV
- A feminist/activist with experience of practical management challenges that women’s grass root organization faces.
Knowledge and experience
- At least 2 years of experience in the NGO sector in the global human rights and ideally women’s rights movements
- Good understanding of Women’s Rights
- Good understanding of the Women, Peace and Security Agenda, UNSCR 1325 and 1820, related international instruments and national policies
- Gender sensitivity and knowledge of gender issues (e.g. Gender Equality, Gender based violence, Gender based stereotypes etc.)
- Fluency in written and spoken Armenian
- Fluency in written and spoken English (At least C1 level)
- Analytical skills
- Strong writing skills
- Good communication and negotiation skills, written and oral
- Experience in communicating with governmental, non-governmental organizations and other relevant stakeholders is preferred;
- A positive problem-solving approach
- Enthusiasm to learn and apply new skills
- Good interpersonal and team-working skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet the initial deadlines
- IT proficiency including knowledge of MS Office, website content management and an ability to learn new software
