Last spring, Armenia witnessed an unprecedented political transformation. The Velvet Revolution ushered in high levels of engagement and civic activism, brought about regime change and radically transformed the political landscape in the country.
One year on, how do we ensure that the events of spring 2018 do not become a missed opportunity for Armenia to move forward and become truly democratic? Can a transformation in the political landscape be sustainable in the absence of a robust civic culture? When we demand change, are we ready to be the change? Is there a set of behaviors in society that is hindering fundamental change? What values and behaviors do we need to display to achieve our national goals and aspirations?
These are some of the questions that will be discussed with writer and thinker Gevorg Ter Gabrielyan, Chief Executive Officer of the Eurasia Partnership Foundation.
