Youth Exchange “Thinking & Doing Crossy” will take place in Yerevan from 28th of October to 4th of November and will gather participants from 4 countries: France, Belgium, Armenia and Georgia
The project “Thinking & Doing Crossy ” is a youth exchange for young people with fewer opportunities (deaf and hearing young people, socially and economically disadvantaged young people, young people with disabilities) from France, Belgium, Armenia and Georgia. During the 1-week meeting in Armenia, participants from different cultural and socio-linguistic groups, will become more self-aware and will discover the Other through artistic, intercultural and linguistic methods facilitating the process of meeting and discovering the Other. The specifics of this exchange is that young participants will invest their skills and knowledge by conducting workshops, each of them being led by a facilitator. Through this, the project intends to empower young people for possessing the relevant know-how and participating in peer education. Through the workshops conducted by the young people about the Hip-Hop dance and circus activities, theater and mime, pictures and video, drawing and graffiti, young participants will create their own communication tool, beyond the common verbal language. Thus, the learning objective of this project is to encourage the participant to explore his/her own resources, to develop them to be able to communicate with others through non-verbal methods, as well as to jointly work with others.
This project allows young people from different social and cultural backgrounds to participate in an intercultural exchange. It aims at raising awareness among young people and promoting their engagement in building an inclusive society. The project objectives are:
• To provide a space where participants will develop together new means of communication;
• To share experiences and competences by the participants;
• To encourage the mutual understanding between deaf and hearing young people;
• To help participants overcome their stereotypes through their experience;
• To strengthen European citizenship through dialogue, joint work and development of civil society;
• To develop cooperation among partners.
• To promote the Erasmus + program;
• To encourage young people to become aware of their ability to exchange, learn and teach others valuing their knowledge through this project, etc.
