TITLE: Project Coordinator for "Skills and Knowledge for Youth Economic-Empowerment" Project
START DATE/ TIME: ASAP
DURATION: One year
LOCATION: Yerevan, Armenia
JOB DESCRIPTION: World Vision Armenia is looking for a Project Coordinator for "Skills and Knowledge for Youth Economic-Empowerment" (SKYE) project, which is pending for final approval from donor. The SKYE Project Coordinator will be responsible for a day-to-day project management and will be directly involved in project activities to ensure their compliance with the project goal and donor requirements. This includes partner mapping, beneficiary identification and mobilization, capacity building of the involved parties, and organization of other activities as per the approved project activity plan. The Project Coordinator will be also overseeing the local implementing partners in implementing the activities as per the signed agreements including monitoring of their activities and reviewing progress reports. The Project Coordinator will closely engage with other partners to ensure their expertise and experience of the field is considered throughout the project implementation.
The goal of the SKYE project is to contribute to enhanced access to employment opportunities and livelihoods for displaced and conflict-affected youth in Armenia. The target group of the project are conflict-affected, displaced young people living in Armenia. These youth will be supported to become active members of their communities, and to increase their ability of employment and self-employment through education, internships, business projects, etc. The project will be implemented in Yerevan.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for a smooth implementation of all the project activities as per the elaborated project action plan and ensuring compliance with the project goal and donor requirements;
- Oversee the project implementing partners' implementation of project activities as per the signed agreements;
- Establish and maintain effective project reporting, evaluation, and communication systems;
- Submit timely accurate and professional progress reports to the Supervisor;
- Manage grant/ project budget within approved spending levels and ensure accurate and timely financial reports to the finance department;
- Ensure project partners' expense reports are timely submitted and duly validated as per WV and donor regulations;
- Be aware and prepared to implement National Office Humanitarian and Emergency Affairs (HEA) plan;
- Perform other duties as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: The following knowledge, skills, and abilities may have been acquired through a combination of formal schooling, self-education, prior experience, or on-the-job training:
- Bachelor's degree in Humanities and Social Sciences;
- Proven ability to develop and communicate a common vision among diverse partners and the ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams;
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and oral and written communication skills in Armenian and English languages;
- At least 1 year of experience in project management working with international organizations and particularly within the refugee projects;
- Experience in any area related to children and youth development, refugee issues;
- Experienced in international organizations, particularly about implementation, budgeting, reporting and other documentation related requirements; experience in working with refugee related projects, particularly with refugees from Syria will be a plus;
- Computer aptitude and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
- Self-disciplined personality with good time management skills;
- Analytical and problem-solving orientation; good interpersonal and negotiation skills;
- Ability to produce clear and well organized documents;
- Understanding of programme and project reporting requirements;
- Ability to identify gaps, trends, priorities and key issues;
- Commitment to learning for transformation;
- Cross-cultural sensitivity, adaptability and flexibility;
- Honesty and commitment to World Vision principles;
- Self-starter with the ability to work in a team environment;
- Willingness to be flexible with hours when necessary and ability to travel locally up to 50 percent of time.
