PROJECT ASSISTANT
This is a temporary replacement for the Project Assistant on maternity leave. The role of the Project Assistant is to provide administrative and programmatic support to the Child Protection Projects at Save the Children in Armenia Office.
Announced vacancy is a part-time position working at least 28 hours (70%) a week.
Job Responsibilities
-Set up and maintain proper electronic and paper filing system for project documentation
-Liaise with sub-grantees/ partner organizations to ensure timely information/report exchange, ensure proper correspondence
-Work with target families and mobilize activities on the ground working with different groups of stakeholders
-Assist in the organization of workshops, seminars, meetings and events (including preparation of invitations, agenda, minute taking, logistics etc)
-Provide assistance in project monitoring activities, including field visits
-Provide administrative and logistical support to international consultants visiting Armenia if need be
-Support external communication with general public, local and international NGOs, local and national government, mass media and donors
-Organize and manage translation of materials including (but not limited to) reports, training documents, letters and memoranda. (This also includes contracting translators, processing payments, arranging interpreting at meetings and events, etc)
-Liaise with administrative, logistics, and procurement staff to ensure that team travel plans are organized and communicated properly, procurement requests are submitted and completed in line with SCI policies and procedures
-Provide program / administrative support to project team members
-Provide general administrative support to the SCI Armenia representative office
-Travel to project locations to support monitor partner activities (at least 40 percent of work time)
Required Qualifications
-Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Social Work or related discipline
-Experience in working with families and children in difficult life situation (including children with disabilities) would be desirable
-Knowledge of and experience in working in child protection, development sectors , and state and non-state structures with focus on both administrative and programmatic issues
-Strong organizational skills
-Knowledge of child protection system and child rights situation in Armenia would be desirable
-Strong communication skills (with special emphasis on official communication skills in Armenian)
-Fluent in written and spoken Armenian and good knowledge of English
-Good computer skills – particularly with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
Occasional Significant Duties:
-Participate in and contribute to program planning meetings
-Ad hoc duties as requested by supervisor
-Participate in program events and trainings as required and necessary
