A Memorandum of Cooperation to Strengthen Security of Border Communities was Signed at RA MES

Minister of Emergency Situations D. Tonoyan and Executive Director of “Pahapan” Development Foundation Inga Haroutyunyan signed a Memorandum of cooperation between the RA Ministry of Emergency Situations and “Pahapan” Development Foundation on April 25, at the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
This memorandum stipulates cooperation between the Ministry and the Foundation in the process of implementing the program of renovation of shelters located on the territory of schools and kindergartens in the border communities of Tavush region of Armenia.
Within the framework of the program the parties will visit the border communities of Tavush region, to select shelters and to jointly evaluate the needs of the renovation. MES will provide professional consultation on shelters and their exploitation.
The Foundation will carry out renovation and furnishing of the shelters located in the territory of schools and kindergartens of border communities.
Joint activities and exchange of relevant information in the field of children's safety in the border communities of the RA Tavush region will be carried out.
The shelters will be equipped with toys, water supplies, books and TV, which will help to alleviate the stressful condition of children, while in shelters. Similar shelters have already been built in the village of Nerqin Karmiraghbyur in Tavush region.
Note, that within the framework of the "Khaghaatakstots" ("Game Shelter") program, “Pahapan” Development Foundation has also initiated the involvement of the private sector in the process of building safe and secure border communities. Under the slogan “Help to build the next”, a number of cafes operating in Yerevan (about 20) will join together, whose visitors will have the opportunity to contribute to ensure safe present for the children of border communities.
