“Armenian-Indian Mosaic” youth project

“Active young citizens initiative” NGO in cooperation with the Embassy of Indian to Armenia, “Indo-Armenian Friendship” NGO and Youth council adjunct to Yerevan Mayor invites you to participate in youth exchange project “Armenian-Indian Mosaic” youth project, that will take place in Yerevan, 1-31 March 2018.
Aim
The project aims to foster the development of the Indian-Armenian relationship, encourage the introduction and promotion of the cultures of India and Armenia, break the stereotypes settled by the society, as well as restore the long-standing relationship of the two countries.
About the project
“Armenian-Indian mosaic” project is directed to introducing and expanding Armenian and Indian cultures, histories, traditions among the youth creating a platform for communication and cooperation. For this purpose, we suggest a range of events, which must be implemented in March.
Overall we will have 9 events:
1. Opening ceremony
2. Presentation of the two countries’ history and religion
3. “Intercultural communication” training
4. Teamwork: Presentation of 10 differences and similarities of the two countries
5. Simulation of an Indian-Armenian wedding
6. Visit to Yerevan History Museum
7. Visit to the Indian Embassy in Armenia. Wrap up the results of the contest “A letter to the ambassador”
8. Intellectual game
9. Closing ceremony – intercultural evening
Profile of participants:
The project targets young people from Armenia and India who are interested in discovering Armenian and Indian cultures. The participants should possess respect and tolerance towards the cultures and religions of the both countries. They must have a sense of responsibility and willingness to learn. It is highly required for the participants to be present on all of the events of the project.
Maximum number of participants: 30 (15 Armenians and 15 Indians).
Eligibility criteria:
- Age of participants: 18-30
- Good command of English
- Be interested in Armenian and Indian culture
- It is highly required for the participants to be present on all of the events of the project
Language:
Working language of the project is English.
Deadline:
The applications should be completed and submitted no later than February 26, at 11 PM.
