Call for Application: Production of Documentary
| Call for Proposals: Documentary Film The South Caucasus Regional Office of the Heinrich Boell Foundation, within the framework of the EU-funded action Solidarity Network for LGBTI in Armenia and Georgia announces a call for proposals for the development of a documentary film. Together with its partners, the project seeks to overcome homophobia/transphobia through consistent public awareness raising, positive media visibility, civil society mobilization and promoting the human rights movement and agenda. The documentary film, the maximum duration of which should be one hour, must comprise an analysis of the existing situation in terms of LGBTI persons and their rights in both countries and highlight the similarities and differences in the regional context. The film should be based on the findings of two comprehensive, large-scale studies implemented in both countries within the framework of the EU-funded action: From Prejudice to Equality: Attitudes, Knowledge and Information Regarding the LGBT Community and Their Rights (study in Georgia, study in Armenia) and the Legal Situation of LGBTI Persons (Georgian study in Georgian and English,Armenian study) and should serve the purposes of awareness raising and increasing the level of sensitivity in society towards the strategic issues identified in the studies. Agreement on the final screenplay and the directions that the film should take will be made in cooperation with the Heinrich Boell Foundation and project partners (the Foundation will provide a qualified contextual consultant/expert, who will work closely with the film crew on the screenplay and relevant focus of the film). The film company should have the capacity to conduct filming in both Georgia and Armenia. The film should be ready for screening in the first half of 2017.
