Innovation for Change in Public Transport
The programme focuses on strengthening the capacity for innovation and development of actors operating in public transport systems at local, regional or national level. The programme is provided by Lund University’s School of Economics and Management (LUSEM), Sweden’s National Center for Research and Education on Public Transport (K2) and Transport and Roads, Division of the Department of Technology and Society at the Faculty of Engineering (LTH) in collaboration with LUCE, the Department for Commissioned Education at Lund University.
You are encouraged to apply if you:
- are a mid-to-upper-level manager in a leading position
- are between 30-55 years of age
- are from Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa or Uganda
- have a good command of English
- have the time to dedicate to the programme
Women are especially encouraged to apply since we strive to obtain an equal gender distribution.
Programme details
Duration of the programme: September 2021–May 2022
Target countries: Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa and Uganda
Costs: Participation in this programme is free of charge. It includes travel to and from Sweden and meals and accommodation during the onsite module in Sweden. The participant’s organisation is responsible for the costs for visas.

Innovation in Governance for Urban Nature-based Solutions
The programme focuses on governance and leadership innovation in the area of Nature-based Solutions for improved urban environments. It is provided by the International Institute for Industrial Environmental Economics (IIIEE) and Lund University School of Economics and Management (LUSEM) in collaboration with LUCE, the Department for Commissioned Education at Lund University.
You are encouraged to apply if you:
- are involved in the governance of built infrastructure and systems that relate to natural resources
- are a mid-to-upper-level manager in a larger city administration or working in civil society, academia or a multilateral organisation in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia or Ukraine
- work closely with management and/or governance activities or issues that are directly relevant to urban and peri-urban natural resources
- are between 35-50 years of age
- have a good command of English
Women are especially encouraged to apply since we strive to obtain an equal gender distribution.

Co-design for Sustainable, Resilient and Inclusive Public Spaces and Services
The programme focuses on increasing the capacity of municipal officials to co-design inclusive public environments and services. The programme is provided by Lund University’s Centre for Environmental and Climate Research (CEC), the Raoul Wallenberg Institute (RWI) and SKL International in collaboration with LUCE, the Department for Commissioned Education at Lund University.

You are encouraged to apply if you:
- are a municipal official or expert from social administration, environmental management, or strategic municipal planning
- work with gender and equality issues
- have at least two years experience of municipal work or work in an NGO
- run local business involved in public environment and services
- are from Indonesia, Lebanon or Turkey
- have some knowledge in English.
You should apply in a team consisting of 4–5 people. Women are especially encouraged to apply since we strive to obtain an equal gender distribution.

Costs: Participation in this programme is free of charge. It includes meals and accommodation during mentor visits and a workshop in the home country.
