Job Opportunity from CRRC-Armenia: Program Manager, Quantitative Research
CRRC-Armenia is looking for dynamic staff members to join the developing Program from Quantitative Research. This is a unique opportunity to participate in, and contribute to, a range of various research and training projects that CRRC is undertaking in Quantitative Research Domain. This is also important if you are willing to contribute to the development of the body of Quantitative Social Research in the Caucasus and beyond.
Manager for Quantitative Research will be responsible for development, execution and administration of the CRRC-Armenia quantitative research program and related projects. In collaboration with the quantitative program staff and in consultation with the Research Director, the position holder will also contribute to the CRRC-Armenia fundraising/R&D efforts and methodological training related to the Quantitative Research Program.
The purpose of the job is to manage the effective implementation of CRRC-Armenia Quantitative Research Programs, as well as ensure its sustainability by means of designing and managing the program and drafting proposals in respective program areas.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Program Management:
- Manage the CRRC-Armenia’s Quantitative Research Program and associated projects, including the Caucasus Barometer (CB) and develop/implement the program plans with International and local experts, while assuring the overall quality control of outputs.
- Initiate and organize program meetings with both CRRC-Armenia quantitative program staff and the clients to ensure the survey/quantitative research quality requirements, output revision and dissemination.
- Mobilize and plan for management of resources and experts for the implementation of quantitative research related assignments; supervise preparation and conduct of fieldwork trainings.
- Assure quality of CRRC-Armenia Quantitative Research (including processes for questionnaire development, sampling design, fieldwork, data control, data archiving, database cleaning, data weighting etc.).
- Develop quantitative research-related respective reports and complementary documents according to the agreed timelines and upon the Research Director’s assignment.
- Supervise the Quantitative Research staff (research analyst(s), associate(s), assistant(s) and the fieldwork coordinator(s).
- Design and manage quantitative research in collaboration with the CRRC-Armenia Research Director, including development of research related calls (for research grants and fellowships) in the fields of migration, education, employment, economic conditions, political attitudes, etc.
- Coordinate and deliver public presentation series based on research results.
- Cooperate with the Communications Officer and the IT Manager to improve the availability of up-to-date resources and datasets for CRRC-Armenia.
- Come up with creative solutions for data visualization and communication of quantitative research results to wider audiences.
- Manage the assigned programs’/projects’ budgets and write memos for division of labor in the quantitative research projects.
- Manager for Quantitative Research takes lead/ownership of the quantitative research program and is responsible for its continued success while ensuring regular reporting to the CRRC-Armenia Research Director.
Program Development:
- Prepare reports and make presentations on the Quantitative Research Program.
- Conduct respective program monitoring and prepare status reports (as necessary).
- Maintain and initiate revisions of the CRRC-Armenia procedures for development of the Quantitative Research Program.
- Represent CRRC-Armenia during external meetings and discussions, as well as participate in academic, research, data collection, data analysis and policy related conferences and seminars.
- Contribute to recruitment of CRRC-Armenia staff members for the Quantitative Research Program, as well as in nominating Board Members, etc.
- Contribute to maintaining and attracting beneficiaries, local/international experts, and potential donors.
- Perform other duties assigned.
Methodological Trainings (MT):
- Contribute to identifying the CRRC-Armenia local community/stakeholders’ training needs, training topics and potential trainers.
- Deliver methodological trainings related primarily to quantitative data collection and analysis.
- Contribute to development of MT packages (announcements, application forms, handouts, evaluation forms, etc.), as needed.
Fundraising:
- Contribute to the CRRC-Armenia fundraising and outreach activities; develop concept papers, project proposals (or parts of it) as assigned.
- Develop narratives and content for proposed projects and make respective budgets especially related to the major responsibility activities.
Work on additional projects and providing academic expertise: as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Education and Experience:
- PhD or MA in Social sciences (preferably in Economics, Sociology or Data Science)
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience, preferably in social science program and research management.
- Experience in designing and implementation of primary data collection projects.
- Experience in preparing and delivering presentations, in developing analytical reports.
- Experience in developing concept papers, program strategies and implementing them.
- Experience in trainings design and implementation.
- Experience with international organizations is plausible.
Required Hard Skills:
- Excellent survey/research program/project design and management skills.
- Knowledge of data needs and challenges of the social science research community in Armenia.
- Excellent computer literacy, knowledge of at least one statistical software package (SPSS, STATA, R etc.).
- Strong analytical skills and ability to propose practical solutions.
- Knowledge of project monitoring and evaluation, ability to develop quality manuals for major processes in quantitative research.
- Excellent writing skills in English and Armenian (knowledge of Russian is desirable).
- Ability and desire to play a hands-on role in Quantitative Research Program design and implementation.
- Good proposal writing skills.

General Terms and Conditions:
Hours: 40 hours per week, 09:00 – 18:00 Lunch time - 1 hour (13:00-14:00). For separate cases the working hours and place are negotiable with the Supervisor and upon notice.
Holidays: Annual leave entitlement for full time CRRC-Armenia staff is 20 working days per calendar year, in addition to Armenian public holidays (up to 12 working days).
Health Insurance: Permanent staff is entitled to the Group Health Insurance Scheme, Training and Scholarship.
Salary Grade: CRRC-Armenia Foundation reserves the right to amend or add to this job description at its discretion. Changes will be discussed with the respective employee in person and notification made in writing within 4 weeks of addition or amendment.
