Location: CRRC-Armenia office (1 Alex Manoogian Street, YSU Library building, 6th floor, room 602)
Overview: In an age of information societies, knowledge economies and fabricated news, the role of researchers and analysts has become particularly critical. Whether publishing in referred academic or policy journals, international outlets command larger audiences and better chances in shaping public discourse nationally, regionally and globally. This session will break down the processes, challenges and opportunities for publishing internationally. How to write a journal abstract? How to identify the right journal for one’s manuscript? How to navigate the review process? What are the trade-offs between publishing an academic article in a journal versus a book chapter? Why publish at all? How to determine if an idea is better suited for an academic journal or a book? What to do with a dissertation in terms of its publication? These are some of the questions the session will address. The session will be interactive, with questions from the audience highly encouraged.
