Media training scholarship for Armenian journalists and activists
AGBU YP Madrid, in collaboration with AGBU and Ronak Press, is organizing an intensive course on Storytelling in Journalism.
The training is aimed at Armenian journalists or activists who want to learn how to better communicate to an international audience what is happening in Armenia and Artsakh. It will take place in Goris (Armenia), from August 2 to August 7, 2021, and will be conducted in English. Important: all expenses are covered by the AGBU.
This training comes in response to the need to fill some of the gaps highlighted among the Armenian media community during the recent armed conflict in Artsakh. It will provide journalists and activists who live in or around conflict zones in Armenia and Artsakh with the proper tools and skill-set to produce effective content and reach an international audience.
Thus, the applicant eligibility requirements are the following: 1) be a current resident of, or originally from, Armenia or Artsakh; 2) be a journalist, journalism student, writer, blogger, or activist with a passion and drive for reporting on current affairs and conflicts in Armenia or Artsakh; and 3) have at least a B2 level of English and be confident in English language writing, reading, speaking and comprehension skills.
