TITLE: Project Coordinator
ELIGIBILITY: All interested candidates
CONTRACT: Permanent, Full Time, with probation of 3 months
LOCATION: Yerevan, Armenia
JOB DESCRIPTION: Project Coordinator’s role is to support the development and implementation of SWV projects they are assigned to. S/he coordinates the project’s smooth implementation and reports back to Head of Programs on their specified projects. The Project Coordinator provides support to the team through assessment, planning, monitoring and documentation. The post requires working closely with the team members and the heads.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Strategy and Project Development
◆ Participate in the team discussions for the development of specific projects within SWV
◆ Share within the team the lessons and knowledge of thematic approaches, trainings attended, particularly experience on civil society strengthening within NGO sector
2. Project Implementation
◆ Provide guidance and support to the project and the staff members involved in assessing the context and needs; in planning and implementing activities; and in monitoring and reporting narrative and financial
◆ Contribute to the development of relations with counterparts (civil society network, partner organizations) and work towards their strengthening through:
- Development of capacity and skills (facilitation, presentation, reporting and networking)
- Assist in the design and delivery of training and other support activities within assigned projects.
◆ Support the organization and facilitation of events (meetings, workshops, training and seminars) with participation of civil society network, project partner and the team
◆ Support and contribute to researches undertaken by SWV and/project partners
3. Communications and Advocacy (to be aligned with Head of Policy and Communications)
◆ Help develop appropriate advocacy strategies - in co-operation with project partner and the team
◆ Monitor and analyze the official and non-governmental debates on issues relevant to the project
◆ Represent SWV in workshops; training and interactions organized by partner organizations, donors
4. Project Administration
◆ Assist the Head of Programs in:
- drafting of project reports,
- preparing estimates for budgeted activities,
- monitoring budgets and expenditure,
- undertaking monitoring and evaluation tasks.
◆ Take on other administrative tasks as assigned by the Heads, such as updating the database, taking minutes, translating documents and assisting with logistics for travel, etc.
◆ Lead, support and develop SWV staff ensuring effective systems are in place for project implementation, project budget accountability, project monitoring, review and evaluation
◆ Other tasks as directed by the Head of Programs
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Absolute essentials
◆ The ability to provide through leadership and a compelling vision for the organization, which is rooted in the perspectives of partners, staff and the women’s rights movement
◆ A feminist/activist for women’s rights with experience of negotiating the practical management challenges facing a women’s grass root organization.
2. Knowledge and experience
◆ Higher Education
◆ 3-5 years of professional experience preferably related to women’s rights
◆ Proven experience in the NGO sector and of the global human rights and ideally women’s rights movements
◆ Fluency in written and spoken English and Armenian essential
◆ Analytical skills
◆ Good communication skills, written and oral
◆ A positive problem-solving approach
◆ Enthusiasm to learn and apply new skills
◆ Good interpersonal and team-working skills
◆ Ability to work under pressure
