I. SUMMARY
The Armenia Integrity Project (AIP) is a five-year program funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by Dexis Consulting Group. The aim of the project is to reduce opportunities for corruption and reinforce public demand for improved governance and accountability in Armenia through:
- Strengthening corruption prevention institutions and integrity systems.
- Supporting the implementation of specific legal-regulatory measures for corruption prevention.
- And facilitating a collective citizen action approach to hold national and local level government entities engaged in corruption prevention mutually accountable.
II. PURPOSE
This RFA is seeking applicants to propose effective approaches to the contribution of the teachers and pupils to the zero-tolerance attitude towards corruption, to increase the effectiveness of corruption prevention education, and to make the government's corruption prevention messages accessible to the pupils and teachers.
III. LOCATION OF ACTIVITIES
The geographic focus under consideration can include all of Armenia.
IV. PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
- Identify eight schools/colleges in total, in Yerevan and regions of the Republic of Armenia and implement corruption prevention educational activities, to promote knowledge of integrity among pupils, and ensure that the government's corruption prevention messages are accessible to students as well as youth who are out of the formal education system and parents in these schools.
- Establish student integrity clubs, which will include at least 10-15 students per club, in schools/colleges or build on other already existing platforms (for example debate clubs) to promote integrity and accountability among pupils, ages 14-18, as well as youth who are out of the formal education system.
- Provide training/mentoring to focus on the active teachers who will lead the pupil’s education on integrity and anticorruption and promote integrity and corruption prevention activities.
- Create corruption prevention educational materials for teachers, pupils as well as youth who are out of the formal education system supporting the development of corruption prevention education and promoting an integrity culture.
- Develop and present recommendations to incorporate corruption prevention educational materials in the school curriculum.
- Identify mechanisms to ensure the sustainability of the integrity clubs working with all stakeholders as well as recommendations regarding sustainability.
V. APPLICANTS ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
The applicant must be officially registered in Armenia and working in compliance with all applicable civil and fiscal regulations, including, but not limited to pertinent local laws and status. The Armenian organizations (and consortiums of organizations) such as not-for-profit civil society organizations, civic unions, academic institutions, and associations are encouraged to apply.
VI. AWARD INFORMATION
Subject to the availability of funds, Dexis expects to award one Fixed Amount Award grant. The anticipated total amount available is 15,450,000 AMD. The expected duration of Dexis’ support or the period of performance shall be no less than September 01, 2023, through June 30, 2024.
Dexis reserves the right to fund any or none of the applications submitted. Further, Dexis reserves the right to make no awards as a result of this RFA.
