The AIWA Scholarship Program

Since it’s inception in 1991, AIWA has been providing scholarships to women of Armenian descent to further their education and fulfill their aspirations. We provide thousands of dollars each year; we awarded $77,000 in scholarships in 2019 alone.
As a signature program of the organization, we will be evaluating the reach of the program and its relevance for ensuring future generations of women have access to the education and skills that they need to propel them to success, both personally and professionally.
For the 2020 year, we will continue to offer scholarships to women who meet the following criteria:
- Female of Armenian descent from anywhere in the world
- Demonstrated Financial Need
- Full-Time Student Only
- Attend a Accredited University/College
- Junior or senior status or graduate student (2020-2021 year)
- Minimum GPA of 2.0
Submission requirements include the following items:
- Official Copy of University/College Transcripts
- Two Letters of Recommendation.
- Small (passport size) Photograph
- Completed application (submitted or postmarked no later than April 17, 2020)
Please note that former scholarship recipients may reapply.
Scholarships ranging from $500 to $5,000 are awarded in the names of:
Lucy Kasparian Aharonian, Ethel Jaffarian Duffett, Rose A. Hovannesian, Agnes Missirian, Dr. Carolann S. Najarian, Hripsime Parsekian, Olga Proudian, and others
