Invitation to a Book Presentation: Getar: Memory of a River
The CSN Lab invites you to attend the “Getar: Memory of a River'' book presentation, which will take place on July 21th, at 19:00 at the AGBU’s office in Armenia (Melik Adamyan 2/2, Yerevan). This book reveals the importance of the Getar river regarding the formation of the social and urban memory of Yerevan. The river is studied through various methods and disciplines among which are anthropology, urban studies, environmentalism, etc. Together with architects, photographers, and illustrators, the authors of the book explore geopoetics and hydropoetics of Getar, as well as create a unique visual image of the river. In addition to rich and authentic visual materials, the publication includes oral stories of the dwellers in whose memories Getar continues to be a remarkable component of the city’s identity.
