Civil Society in Action (CSA)/Counterpart International, in partnership with Urban Foundation for Sustainable Development and through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from Armenian CBOs to implement activities focused on supporting democratic processes in their communities such as but not limited to establishing a dialogue with the local government, actively engaging in identifying community issues by using existing mechanisms like participation in community council meetings and public hearings, community’s participatory budget development and budget monitoring, contributing to local policy-making; and engaging with women, youth, and marginalized populations.

This call for applications is to award up to 5 regional media organizations (e.g. online, TV, radio/podcast, print) in Armenia with financial support to create additional programs and content on key topics of regional interest. Special attention is given to projects that harvest recently build capacities and skills. Priority will be given to online media, media outlets with a focus on relevant topics in remote areas, and projects that include and support female journalists.

The goal of CSA is to enhance civil society sustainability through improved financial viability, organizational capacity, and policy dialogue. Counterpart’s vision for CSA is to enable local organizations and civic movements to enhance two key dimensions of civil society: CSOs’ impacts on policy discourse (the external effect) and CSOs’ representation of constituents (the internal effect).
