Designer-Artisan Apprenticeship Program

My Armenia is inviting young designers-apprentices to participate in Designer | Artisan Apprenticeship program starting February 2017. The program will pair young Armenian designers with Armenian artisans in Vayots Dzor, Syunik, and Lori for a collaborative training and product development process․
Selected apprentices participating in the program will:
1. attend a two-day kick-off workshop (17- 18 Feb, 2017) exploring Armenian craft heritage and tips for successful collaboration between designers and artisans.
2. join a team of artisans to attend a two-day training workshop on marketing, product development, and craft costing and pricing (20-28 Feb, 2017)
During the workshop, design apprentices and artisans will form teams to develop a timeline for a design project to be completed over the four months of collaborative work. Projects may include new branding and logos, marketing materials, packaging, or even new product development and design. Design apprentices will periodically travel to the regions to work with artisans in their workshops/studios. At the end of the project, design apprentices and artisans will present their collaborative work at a sales exhibition.
Eligibility criteria:
1. At least 18 years old,
2. At least one year of experience in design work is preferable,
3․ Final year students and postgraduates with flexibility to travel to regions,
3. At least basic skills in either photography, graphic design, hand drawing/illustration, and/or editing software.
